Family Business Forum

Family Business Forum is a cultural initiative dedicated to family businesses, which represent the primary form of enterprise in Italy (and beyond Italy). Conceived and organized by journalist Maria Silvia Sacchi, it is aimed at entrepreneurs with the goal of expanding knowledge on topics that are vital to businesses and, consequently, to the country. It takes the form of an annual summit, each time in a different city, and an online news outlet, alongside related social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).

The distinctive feature of FBF is its focus on the business together with the family or families that control it. What does this mean? During the annual event, both economic topics (macro-economic scenarios, the impact of certain public measures, etc.) and technical topics (for example: tools to ensure generational transition, opening capital to private equity funds, or going public) are covered. However, much attention is given to relationships: those within the family and those between the entrepreneurial family and the context in which it lives and operates. Good personal relationships within the family are a huge help when important decisions need to be made. Just as bad relationships can destroy healthy businesses from an economic standpoint.

As a family is made up of people, it is also impacted by what surrounds it, just like employees, collaborators, and suppliers of the company. For this reason, Family Business Forum also addresses “side” topics or emerging phenomena.

The format of Family Business Forum, an annual event, is strongly focused on the content, which is sometimes presented in a theatrical form to make it as direct and engaging as possible.

To ensure the scientific rigor of the FBF project, an Steering Committee is involved.

The Family Business Forum is now in its fourth edition, which will take place in Arezzo on May 8 and 9, 2025, at the Teatro Petrarca.
